This shredded redwood material is an exceptionally long-lasting, decorative ground cover. Gorilla hair is fibrous and fuzzy in nature, soft in appearance and rich in color. It seems to hold together better along minor slopes and hillsides. Along with great aesthetic appeal, it increases moisture retention and weed reduction.
Walk on Bark
This material has the lush appearance and cushioned feel of the forest floor. Consisting of various particle sizes, this fibrous and woody bark mixture interlocks (knits down) after installation and is often used as ground cover in high wind situations.
Preferred as decorative bark mulch, these 2" and smaller nuggets can be used as a walk-on surface or for ground cover. With a clean, yet natural look, these individual nuggets are long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing.
Mini pebbles are produced with high quality installations in mind. It's a popular choice for installations that need complete coverage as it hugs the trunk system of most plants and shrubs while aiding in moisture retention and weed reduction.
Used as a decorative ground cover or for pathways, these chips improve the site's appearance while maintaining soil moisture, reducing soil erosion, and controlling weeds. The golden yellow appearance gives a good contrast to any landscape. The suggested coverage of this clean material is a 2" depth.
After we accept Green and Wood waste at our yard we double grind the raw pile and produce sellable product. The material could be a mixture of various shrubs and local trees from oak, eucalyptus and pine and construction debris including 2x4 lumber and plywood. We DO NOT accept any type of treated wood or painted material. This material is a perfect fit for larger properties that would have an alternate to dirt; it's an excellent choice for weed control and moisture retention in your soil.
Recycled Cedar Chips
These old cedar shingles are ground to approximately 1" pieces and smaller. Although some construction paper is still present in the material it would be an excellent choice for general landscape beds not needing high quality control standards during production. These chips do great as weed abatement and a natural looking ground cover as an alternative to dirt.
Playground Mini Chips
Playground Chips are produced from a 100% virgin wood cedar. Free of chemicals, additives, soil, leaves and other contaminates, the material is screened in size to meet ADA, CPSC & ASTM standards for accessibility, shock absorbent and slip resistance. This product surpasses the ASTM F1292 and ASTM F1951 standard specifications. Playground Chips are a durable ground cover intended for heavy-duty applications such as playgrounds, parks, or equestrian centers. This cobble is consistently grey and light tan in color. It's a smooth round rock that range in size from 1 1/2" to 8". It's a popular rock to be used in driver river beds, general landscaping and traffic medians. It also can be installed vertically as a store/building front or facing a retention wall.
This rock is the most colorful in our inventory. The colors are an excellent blend from white, red and peach and are sized from 3/4" to 1 1/2". The colors offer a great contrast to darker homes or landscaping including areas that meet up to grass.
This rock is hard white rock that has quartz running through it that will give it a nice sparkle against the sun. It's an excellent rock that gives any landscaping a boost using either the 3/4" or 1 1/2" that is available in our inventory.
Our red lava rock is a deep red porous rock that is available in either 3/4" or 1 1/2".
The color of our Winsor rock ranges from a deep green (almost black) to a dark green with little white streaks. The Winsor rock is the only decorative rock that is harvested in the local mountains. Like all our decorative rocks the Winsor rock is fantastic contrast to a colorful landscape.
Custom Mixed Rocks
Our staff can assist you in creating your own custom look for your yard. We often mix the various styles of rocks to get the unique look that suits your style. This picture is a mixture of 60% 1 1/2" Ginger, 30% 1 1/2" Red Lava and 10% 3/4" Green Winsor.
Decomposed granite is the natural decomposition of hard granite material found in the local mountains. It's found in either grey or brownish tan color and usually has no rocks larger than 1/2" in size. It's an excellent choice for walkways, bike paths, roadways and sometimes used as a filler between flagstone.
"Birds Eye" Chip Rock
This rock is harvested in the Cuyama Valley. That Cuyama River is notorious for having smaller aggregate sizes; the Birds Eye is 1/4" in size and has a light brown color. It's a great alternative to sand for smaller sandboxes and installed between flagstones for unique look.
3/4" Float Rock
Float Rock is a by-product to the local production of aggregates. It's a lightweight rock that is a light brown to white in color and is a popular choice in budget conscience landscape designs. It is readily available and is used for either landscape beds, leach fields or dry river beds.
3/4" River Rock
This rock is harvested locally in the Santa Maria River. The colors can shift from red, brown, green and grey. This rock is not a crushed rock so it will give you a uniform look while it stays 3/4" in diameter. It is readily available and is used for either landscape beds, leach fields or dry river beds.
3/4" Natural River Rock
Our 3/4" natural river rock is a mixture of float rock and standard river rock with a minimal amount of dirt and sand mixed in. It's a less expensive alternative to using our clean rocks for landscape beds or can be used as a drivable material for r.v. parking, small vehicle traffic and walkways. Once the material is spread and compacted the dirt can be washed off to expose a very nice balance of color.
1 1/2" River Rock
